You are looking for a psychologist?

There are times when we all feel overwhelmed and helpless. Sometimes there is too much for us to handle alone, and despite our best efforts, dark feeling states keep coming back. We experience self-doubts, unpleasant reactions, conflict and hopelessness. During these times in our lives we are truly challenged. We yearn for a change but we often do not know how to go about it. Despite all our pain, this is a good time to seek help. Therapy starts with the desire for something better. Once we start to recognize this, and we find the willingness to look at what is truly going on, we can begin the healing process.

My goal and commitment is to provide effective treatment that guides my patients through a healing process that makes a difference in their lives. I am a psychologist in private practice.

I specialize in treatment of trauma, anxiety and depression. I believe most of our difficulties stem from having learned adaptive ways of protecting ourselves against hostile or difficult environments. These adaptations eventually become maladaptive and prevent us from connecting with others and with the reality around us. These behavioral and emotional patterns are engrained in our autonomous nervous system and occur automatic and unconsciously. With a nervous system centered approach what has been learned can be unlearned and  changed. Longstanding maladaptive ways of experiencing cause faulty self-beliefs, self-doubt and self-loathing, and lead to many unnecessary life difficulties.

To learn more about who I am and how I work check out my website  and the Client Resources tab on top of this page. I utilize various approaches, most importantly Somatically based Therapy  and Natural Processing. NP is a highly effective, body centered approach that utilizes the most recent advances in neuropsychology and neurobiology to work and address the autonomous nervous system responses. Trauma and Attachment models, as well as Family Systems Theory guide my understanding and thinking. Learn more about my approach HERE (this is the most useful link to understand my approach to psychotherapy). Watch the videos relevant to your situation.

I focus on services for adults, teenagers, young adults and couples.

Many resources and articles are available on my website. Check the various RESOURCES tabs for more information.
